Powerful Poetry Essay

â€Å"Shall I contrast thee with a summer’s day? Thou workmanship all the more stunning and increasingly calm. † This line is from work 18 and it is extraordinary compared to other known about William Shakespeare’s 154 poems. William Shakespeare is the man who made delightful verse and he affected individuals to make their own. In today’s cutting edge society, regardless of whether it’s broadly read or not, verse can be impressively moving and to really contact individuals. Verse is applicable and intriguing in today’s society since it communicates an extraordinary cluster and profundity of people’s emotions, it causes the peruser to associate with the sonnet, and it has a remarkable worth. Likewise verse is second-submit music in light of the fact that in most hip-bounce tunes the words rhyme and make a rhyming couplet. Seeking after this further, verse is an amazing thing and it ought to be remembered for today’s forward-thinking society. Irrefutably, all sonnets express sentiments and feelings that the essayist has managed for a mind-blowing duration. Verse communicates feeling in a structure that pleases the peruser in one field and a sentiment of distress in another. No other sort of composing has the force or ability to stimulate that much feeling other than verse. Each living animal has emotions, however everything has its own specific manner to communicate it. One way people express their most profound sentiments is through utilizing their language to compose and form verse. Perusing verse can help see through the eyes of the essayist and see what they are encountering. â€Å"This power ascends from inside, similar to the shade of a blossom which blurs and changes as it is developed† (Shelley). This statement says that individuals can communicate and that is significant throughout everyday life. Verse can make it simpler to step into the shoes of another person and find out about their character. Without verse, individuals would not have the option to communicate their sentiments and feelings and show individuals their genuine character. Likewise verse can help individuals by utilizing it to discharge strain or stress that they have to dispose of. Following a harsh day at school, perusing some verse is a decent method to dispose of the pressure that is caused from issues, for example, stepping through a hard examination or getting a ton of schoolwork. Verse calms the psyche and gives the brain a reprieve. Verse utilizes the five faculties to make a quiet and flawless picture utilizing just words. One model that utilizes the five faculties is, â€Å"All congested with purplish blue greenery and blossoms/So sweet, the sense blacks out imagining them† (Shelley). This statement utilizes the feeling of sight on the grounds that the picture is excellent to such an extent that your feeling of sight blacks out. This style of composing can be very quieting and consoling when perused in a very situation. Verse is much the same as a vehicle wash for the psyche and soul; it renews the spirit and gives the brain a pristine beginning. Without verse, there is one less approach to dispose of pressure and discharge strain. Notwithstanding being utilized as a pressure reliever, verse is utilized to form music. Similarly as in verse, music additionally shares a fundamental component known as musicality. In verse there can be a wide range of sorts of mood simultaneously. Singular lines incorporate unstressed and focused on syllables which is known as a meter. There is likewise a mood between lines when metric examples are rehashed. In music, rhythm is the beat of the music and the beats give the music its customary example. Verse and music likewise show feeling and articulation in their stunning gems. Rap is comprised of rhyme, beat, similar sounding word usage and numerous other idyllic traits. It is the most indistinguishable to verse, anyway it is still music. Music without words is verse, however not in the general state. Without verse there would be no music since they are fundamentally the same as and one can’t live without the other. Another motivation behind why verse is significant is on the grounds that it is considerably more engaging to peruse contrasted with perusing a book. Besides, sonnets are significantly more intriguing to peruse as opposed to perusing a long, exhausting book. Book plots and characters can be associated with a constrained timeframe however verse is one of the main types of abstract language that can be remembered. In the realm of verse, the entirety of the principles that are applied to composing books are disregarded and a bit of workmanship is made that is totally special. Verse is such a short type of composing that the peruser can consider the sonnet for quite a long time without having their nose covered in a book. Verse utilizes three thoughts that are critical to the content; careful symbolism, feelings, and language. Without these three things, sonnets would not have depictions that utilization the five faculties to make a picture and individuals would lose enthusiasm for understanding it. Then again, a few people accept that verse is insignificant and this is the reason they are incorrect. A few people may state that verse is insignificant and it is an exercise in futility. They may state that verse is superfluous in light of the fact that they trust it is exhausting to peruse and there is a bigger number of individuals composing verse than there is valuing it. Verse is applicable on the grounds that it is a lot shorter and simpler to peruse contrasted with perusing a book. Verse is energizing to peruse in light of the fact that it communicates the sentiments of the essayist and places the peruser in the writer’s shoes. Verse is pleasant to peruse in the event that you can comprehend and fathom what's going on in the sonnet. Perusing verse is a substitute type of perusing and it is perused by numerous individuals. Along these lines, verse is significant and significant in today’s society and ought to be regarded more. So, verse is extremely applicable in today’s quick paced, innovative society for some reasons. Verse is an approach to let individuals express their feelings and show what their character resembles. Perusing verse is a helpful technique to diminish pressure and can loosen up the mind when it is over-burden with such a large number of issues. Likewise verse is an approach to make a mood and there would be no music without verse. Finally verse is considerably more engaging to peruse contrasted with perusing a long, exhausting book. Verse is a deviation since it is far superior to the norm. On the off chance that verse was never instructed again in schools we would above all lose a crucial language from before. Verse is just as pertinent as the message of the sonnet, contingent upon how well it has been composed. Human Immunodeficiency Virus - 1010 Words

Human Immunodeficiency Virus, Also known as HIV leads to AIDS, or acquired immune deficiency syndrome. HIV attacks the T-cells in your immune system by using them to make copies of infected cells and destroying the original T-cell. There will soon be no active T-cells. The T-cells are important for your immune system because they help fight off infections and diseases. Without it your immune system is weak leaving you vulnerable to infections and diseases. According to Gustav Mark Gedatus in his book â€Å"HIV and AIDS,† a person without HIV has about 800-1200 T-cells for every cubic meter. As HIV keeps attacking T-cells the count decreases. When the count has become 200 or less, the disease is now AIDS. Its not exactly certain how HIV came about. In fact there are many theories. One theory scientist believe that HIV came from chimpanzees from west Africa. Studies showed that chimpanzees carry a similar virus called SIV, or simian immunodeficiency virus. Scientist believe tha t SIV was transmitted to humans in the late 1800s. It is believed that humans came into contact with the chimpanzees blood when people hunted for them. Over decades the virus has spread all through out Africa and other parts of the world. However, scientist do know that the virus reached The United States at least in mid 1970. The Concept Of Sociological Imagination Connecting History

Claudia Rosado Professor Williams Sociology 3 October 2014 The Concept of Sociological Imagination: Connecting History to Biography C. Wright Mills believed that sociological imagination connects history and biography by means of cause and effect. Society and all things surrounding it have a particular interconnection when it comes to change. As a result, one major alteration to everyday society causes human relationships in history to adapt to change. History is altered by man, without human interaction and the exponential growth of historical events. Mills explains that â€Å"the sociological imagination enables its possessor to understand the larger historical scene in terms of its meaning for the inner life and the external career of a variety of individuals† (2), this means viewing social relationships and the events that follow those relationships in a larger perspective. Embracing the reality of the cause and effect that occurs throughout history and how it has brought us to the society that we are today is to embrace a greate r part of ourselves as individuals. History teaches us that it is human nature to evolve and to grow as a whole. We create history with our actions and the consequences of those actions are then documents as historical events to be remembered as the shaping of our society. Mills touches on the concept of men feeling trapped within their own personal lives; they are only in control of the close relationships they hold with their work, family or home.Show MoreRelatedI Am Applying Intersectionality And The Sociological Imagination1080 Words   |  5 PagesI am applying intersectionality and the sociological imagination to my intersecting identities: class, gender, and ethnicity. The Effect of Lyrics in Music on Society Free Essays

Music and its lyrical content has become an integral component of society as it constitutes an essential part in most people’s lives. The advent of MP3 players, ipods and similar gadgets has cemented the widespread reach of musical lyrics, particularly among the so – called MTV generation. While this point cannot be called into question, the exact effect of lyrics on society at large is debatable and is the subject of much controversy. We will write a custom essay sample on The Effect of Lyrics in Music on Society or any similar topic only for you Order Now The reason for this is the paucity of research on the said subject. In response to public concern over the harmful effects of explicit lyrics, much has been said and written about it but there is little scientific evidence to back up opposing claims. A careful analysis of the existing research literature, however, reveals that the lyrics in music exercises a profound influence on society and moreover, there is disturbing evidence to show that it does more harm than good. Arguments and Counterarguments about the Effect of Lyrics in Music It has been argued that the lyrical content of music has precious little effect on the collective psyche of the masses and that the focus on its pervasive influence and perceived harmful effects is largely uncalled for. The meaning of songs is subject to interpretation, it has been claimed and as such depends entirely on the listener and his or her individual perception. Besides songs nowadays are layered with intricate meaning and severely tax the cognitive skills of the listeners who usually misinterpret the lyrics or simply don’t care about them. Some are of the opinion that it is solely music as opposed to its lyrical content that affects the masses. Studies conducted by Rosenbaum and Prinsky as well as Wass et al. have supported this claim by revealing that â€Å"†¦ listeners have reported that song lyrics are not particularly important to them and that they are more attracted to qualities of music than they are to the lyrics† (qtd. in Hansen Hansen 178). All these viewpoints are misleading as they underestimate the sheer insidiousness and impact of the lyrics in songs. The tremendous popularity of rap music bears testament to the power of words, particularly since rap or hip – hop focuses entirely on the lyrics and music merely serves to accentuate the clever wordplay and inherent themes. Thus the genre of rap music with its attendant controversy and crazed fan – following highlights the immense effect lyrics have on society. Further Hansen and Hansen have concluded from their studies that â€Å"†¦despite low levels of lyric comprehension and recall of song lyrics, listeners were able to extract themes of sex, suicide, violence,   and satanism from songs by popular heavy metal groups using schematic processing† (178) . On the basis of this and other studies, it may be concluded that the lyrics in music have the ability to shape impressionable minds, influence beliefs, determine one’s outlook towards life and subsequently at an overt level, affect the behavior and actions of individuals. Lyrics may enable people to become cognizant of socially relevant issues and empathize with their fellow humans. But more often that not lyrics of popular music appears to spawn harmful effects that have dangerous implications for our society. The Harmful Effects of Lyrics and Its Impact on Society Over the years, the lyrical content of music has undergone a metamorphosis of sorts. Lyrical themes no longer celebrate romantic love and peace but glorify pleasures of the flesh, aggression and drug use. Therefore people have become increasingly concerned with lyrics replete with sexual and violent overtones, particularly their influence on youngsters. This concern is not misplaced because in the words of Hargrave and Livingstone, â€Å"†¦ studies reveal consistent messages in music lyrics that may be considered harmful including messages promoting violence among boys / men, homophobic messages, or those encouraging early sexuality among young girls / women† (109) . Contemporary music abounds with alarmingly casual descriptions of lustful and violent activities and has had the effect of desensitizing the masses and prompting individuals to make unwise decisions. With regard to the accusation of harmful effects, lyrics have been directly implicated as a study by â€Å"Rubin, West, and Mitchell (2001) found that fans of rap and heavy metal music scored significantly higher on measures of aggression than did fans of other musical genres† (Giles 67) . And of course it is these particular genres that have come under fire for their brutal lyrics. Thus there is little doubt as to the effects of explicit lyrics on listeners. Thanks to the offensive material conveyed by songs, many of the evils that plague our society can be directly linked to the lyrics in music. For instance the increased incidence of sexual activity among adolescents, teen pregnancies, drug use, violence against homosexuals, women and other minority groups may be traced to the lyrical content of music. In view of the existing evidence, the pervasive effect of lyrics cannot be taken lightly as it threatens to undermine the very foundation on which society is based. Conclusion In light of the evidence outlined above, one may safely assert that the lyrics in music affect society to a large extent. In addition to their profound influence it is found that their effects can be harmful to the individual as well as society. Therefore the impact of lyrical content cannot be ignored or underestimated and further research is imperative to determine its exact nature. Works Cited Giles, David. Media Psychology. Archduke Ferdinand essays

Archduke Ferdinand essays The Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand No other political murder in modern history has had such momentous consequences as the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand. He was the heir to the Habsburg empire, and the first to fall victim to political homicide. Unlike some constitutional monarchies in Western Europe, the Habsburgs had failed to modernize their multinational state. They used force to defend their institutions, and they were faced with a mass of revolutionary movements in Italy and Hungary. Although the Sarajevo assassins were Bosnians and thus Austro-Hungarian citizens, and although they had plotted against the Habsburg dignitaries for years, three leading members of the conspiracy, Princip, Cabrinovic, and Grebez, came to Sarajevo from Belgrade. They were armed with pistols and bombs, which they had obtained through some Bosnian youth from Major Voljislav Tankosic, one of the leaders of the Black Hand. Despite the common goal of national liberation shared by the Young Bosnians and the Black Hand alike they differed in their approach to internal problems in the South Slav society. The civilian authorities at the border informed the Serbian government that some members of the Black Hand were smuggling arms into Austro-Hungarian territory. An investigation was at once opened. They questioned Colonel Apis, the leader of the Black Hand, but he denied that his men were involved in these operations. There is a theory that there was a power struggle between Apis and Pasic, the Prime Minister who thought Apis was threatening the whole political system of Serbia. The struggle led Apis to approve the delivery of the arms to the Sarajevo assassins. It seems that Apis did not expect that Princip and his accomplices would succeed in killing the archduke. Colonel also thought that their efforts would provoke a greater strain in relations between Pasic and the Vienna government. These complications woul...

List of Organs Damaged by Smoking Expanded

List of Organs Damaged by Smoking Expanded Smoking causes diseases in nearly every organ of the body, according to a comprehensive report on smoking and health from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Published 40 years after the surgeon generals first report on smoking which concluded that smoking was a definite cause of three serious diseases this newest report finds that cigarette smoking is conclusively linked to diseases such as leukemia, cataracts, pneumonia, and cancers of the cervix, kidney, pancreas, and stomach. Weve known for decades that smoking is bad for your health, but this report shows that its even worse than we knew, said U.S. Surgeon General Richard H. Carmona in a press release. The toxins from cigarette smoke go everywhere the blood flows. Im hoping this new information will help motivate people to quit smoking and convince young people not to start in the first place. According to the report, smoking kills an estimated 440,000 Americans each year. On average, men who smoke cut their lives short by 13.2 years, and female smokers lose 14.5 years. The economic toll exceeds $157 billion each year in the United States $75 billion in direct medical costs and $82 billion in lost productivity. We need to cut smoking in this country and around the world, HHS Secretary Tommy G. Thompson said. Smoking is the leading preventable cause of death and disease, costing us too many lives, too many dollars, and too many tears. If we are going to be serious about improving health and preventing disease we must continue to drive down tobacco use. And we must prevent our youth from taking up this dangerous habit. In 1964, the Surgeon Generals report announced medical research showing that smoking was a definite cause of cancers of the lung and larynx (voice box) in men and chronic bronchitis in both men and women. Later reports concluded that smoking causes a number of other diseases such as cancers of the bladder, esophagus, mouth, and throat; cardiovascular diseases; and reproductive effects. The report, The Health Consequences of Smoking: A Report of the Surgeon General, expands the list of illness and conditions linked to smoking. The new illnesses and diseases are cataracts, pneumonia, acute myeloid leukemia, abdominal aortic aneurysm, stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer, cervical cancer, kidney cancer and periodontitis. Statistics indicate that more than 12 million Americans have died from smoking since the 1964 report of the surgeon general, and another 25 million Americans alive today will most likely die of a smoking-related illness. The reports release comes in advance of World No Tobacco Day, an annual event on May 31 that focuses global attention on the health hazards of tobacco use. The goals of World No Tobacco Day are to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco use, encourage people not to use tobacco, motivate users to quit and encourage countries to implement comprehensive tobacco control programs. Impacts of Smoking on Overall Health The report concludes that smoking reduces the overall health of smokers, contributing to such conditions as hip fractures, complications from diabetes, increased wound infections following surgery, and a wide range of reproductive complications. For every premature death caused each year by smoking, there are at least 20 smokers living with a serious smoking-related illness. Another major conclusion, consistent with recent findings of other scientific studies, is that smoking so-called low-tar or low-nicotine cigarettes does not offer any health benefit over smoking regular or full-flavor cigarettes. There is no safe cigarette, whether it is called light, ultra-light, or any other name, Dr. Carmona said. The science is clear: the only way to avoid the health hazards of smoking is to quit completely or to never start smoking. The report concludes that quitting smoking has immediate and long-term benefits, reducing risks for diseases caused by smoking and improving health in general. Within minutes and hours after smokers inhale that last cigarette, their bodies begin a series of changes that continue for years, Dr. Carmona said. Among these health improvements are a drop in heart rate, improved circulation, and reduced risk of heart attack, lung cancer, and stroke. By quitting smoking today a smoker can assure a healthier tomorrow. Dr. Carmona said it is never too late to stop smoking. Quitting smoking at age 65 or older reduces by nearly 50 percent a persons risk of dying of a smoking-related disease. Unexpected Organs Damaged by Smoking Aside from the major organs- heart, lungs, brain, stomach, etc.- cigarette smoking and excessive exposure to secondhand smoke can cause damage to some unexpected parts of the body, according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). Ears: By reducing the flow of oxygen to the cochlea, a snail-shaped organ in the inner ear, smoking can damage the cochlea, resulting in mild to moderate hearing loss.   Eyes: Besides increasing the risk of blindness from cataracts, nicotine from cigarettes reduces the body’s ability to produce the chemical necessary for being able to see at night, especially dangerous when driving after dark. Mouth: Long known for causing disfiguring and potentially fatal oral cancers, cigarette smoke is now known to cause smokers to have more mouth sores, ulcers and gum diseases than non-smokers. In addition, smokers are more likely to have tooth decay and lose their teeth at a younger age. Skin and Face: By causing the skin to become dry and lose its elasticity, smoking can lead to stretch marks and wrinkles. By their early 30s, many regular smokers have already developed deep wrinkles around their mouth and eyes. According to the NHLBI, quitting smoking can protect the skin from premature aging.

Crjs410 U5DB - Research Paper Example The fact that that most of the terrorists who were linked to the September 11 terror attack were Muslims lead to a non- Muslim community to view Muslims as synonymous to evil and a people who cannot be trusted. The non –Muslim community supported policy changes allowing torture. Security procedures to spy on Muslims were also put in place (Morrow, 2014). Interfaith Summits and campaigns such as† Shoulder to shoulder: Standing with American Muslims† have been launched to fight against anti-Muslim mentality. Leaders have publicly condemned religious intolerance, and there has been prosecution of the perpetrators. Unitas community needs to employ these strategies in order to assure the Muslim community of their security and to promote tolerance (Morrow, 2014). Hate crimes statutes are laws enacted to deter bias-motivated violence. The statue’s goals are to deter prejudice, to condemn racism, religious intolerance and homophobia and to condemn any other criminal conduct (Hrw.org., 2014). Macbeth: The Weird Sisters :: Free Macbeth Essays

Macbeth: The Weird Sisters         Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   In Elizabethan times, witches were a natural part of life.   Macbeth witnessed this, as seen in the play Macbeth, by William Shakespeare.   The evil forces that the weird sisters, who were witches, possessed, put Macbeth's mind in another direction.   This direction was the beginning of his moral downfall and the destruction of his destiny.   The weird sisters warned Macbeth of this in the three apparitions but he continued living his life without realizing that they were speaking of him.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Without the weird sisters, Macbeth would have lived a very different life.   It is unknown whether it would have been better or worse.   The weird sisters affected Macbeth   in the worst way.   They tempted him by addressing him as Thane of Cawdor, Thane of Glamis and future king, without ordering him to do anything to obtain these positions.      Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   All hail, Macbeth!   hail to thee, Thane of Glamis!   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   All hail, Macbeth!   hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor!   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   All hail, Macbeth!   that shalt be King hereafter.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   (Act 1, Scene 3, Lines 48-50) With this information Macbeth was provided with incentive to kill Duncan the King of Scotland.   He was tempted into believing that if the King was murdered, he was to become what the witches predicted.   While the witches never said this, Macbeth assumed that that was what they meant and the subsequent murder of Duncan was carried out by Macbeth himself, but, he also ordered special murderers to kill Banquo, Lady Macduff and her children.   The murder and bloodshed had absolutely nothing to do with the witches.   Macbeth acted totally out of his own will and beliefs.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Although Macbeth murdered Duncan, it was not planned and thought out. When Macbeth heard the prediction given to him by the three witches, he wrote a letter to his wife (Lady Macbeth).   On reading this letter, Lady Macbeth believed that if Macbeth murdered Duncan he would take his place at the Throne. Lady Macbeth did not know that Duncan thought of her husband as a hero and really wanted him to be Thane of Cawdor, as the original traitor would be killed. When Macbeth returned home, Lady Macbeth told him that he must kill Duncan and persuaded him by calling him a coward.      Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Which thou esteem'st the ornament of life,   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   and live a coward in thine own esteem.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   (Act 1, Scene 7, Lines 42-43)    Macbeth gave in to his wife and killed Duncan, only because he was a very proud man and had too much pride.   Eventually Lady Macbeth's conscience took over her and she committed suicide.

Physics LabShc of Water

The result I will get as the SSH of water will not be exactly the same as the literature value, but ill be a very close figure to the literature value of the SSH of water as there will be some limitations to our experiment. The experimental result I acquired was 4119. 54 Jag-1 K-1, lower than I expected, while the literature value is 4200 Jag-K-1 this shows that the experiment was carried out correctly, but not perfectly. There is a 2% error in my result when compared to the literature value. The errors can be due to the fact that the experiment wasn't orchestrated under professional conditions in a top-notch lab. Thus, one can without a doubt conclude by saying that the experiment faced mom errors while it was being conducted, but still arrived at the area of the expected result.Evaluation The experiment was conducted well, despite the random and systematic errors that I came across. The main errors I identified were the following: When transferring the iron block into the calorimet er some heat was lost to the surroundings as the block was out in the open. The simple calorimeter we used was made from a copper can, and when the water and iron block were boiling the can was nearby, and since it's a metal and metals are conductors of heat it possibly has gained heat from the Bunsen burner. Therefore, the temperature difference of the mixture, as a result, could have been made smaller by reason of heat being gained by the calorimeter. The cover of the calorimeter wasn't fully closed, leaving the water inside exposed and vulnerable to evaporation, which could lead to the loss of mass of the water and also cause the water to lose or gain heat from the surroundings, which could have been the reason I got results lower than what I expected, even though it would result in a very minute difference Suggestions for Improvements Weakness – Improvement Calorimeter gaining heat from the Bunsen burner close by because of the material it's made from Introduce a calorimet er that is made from a substance that doesn't let outside intrusions affect it. The cover of the calorimeter not fully closing Use a lid that fits the copper can so that the water inside of it isn't exposed to outside air Heat lost to surroundings when transferring ten test material (metal Deadlock) Into ten calorimeter Put forward a scheme whereby less heat is lost to the surroundings or use a metal that has some characteristics of an insulator as the test material (metal block)
